Seattle-born, Tacoma-bred graphic designer Art Chantry may well be known as one of the great graphic artists since Warhol. His signature, low-fi, DIY aesthetics have laid countless album covers for such Pacific Northwest rock bands as Nirvana, Hole, Soundgarden, etc. He’s also done old theater posters for various events, particularly the infamous Hempfest. His work has been featured in MoMa, Smithsonian and a huge 300+ piece retrospective at PS-1 in NY. God bless the days of non-computerized graphic designs. [EP]

Arigato Yamamoto
8 08 2007Yohji Yamamoto’s Fall 2007 Collection is a twisted apocalyptic thrill ride through a war-zone Afghanistan during the Victorian Era. *pause* In another words, Yamamoto is a genius. Always pushing the boundaries of fashion, Yamamoto defies the traditional garments with angular cuts and disarrayed patterns that would leave the average joe in sheer confusion. Often described as the “Designer’s Designer” – Yamamoto is a mad-scientist that might just rule the world. [EP]

Delta Force One
24 05 2007When half the year the sun sets at 4PM, Copenhagen might be the complete antithesis of Miami. So what do you do with all that indoor time? Why not build one sick, modern-designed recording studio with some of the world’s most sought-after analog gear along with state-of-the-art digital equipment and a Thomas Meier inspired white wall design. Delta Lab Studio looks like a scene out of Kubrick’s 2001: Space Odyssey but with a lot of subwoofers. It’s $700 per hour for studio time; that’s $100 for real studio and $600 for the ambiance. It’s worth it. (EP)
