Dance the night away

9 08 2007

Yes we know it’s still 8 months away but without a doubt, WMC’08 will be upon us in a blink of an eye. Our friends at Flavorpill devised this quirky-quick video-mentary on what one expects from a week-long debauched excursion through electronica eventica on the sandy shores of Miami Beach. Heaven only knows what 2008 will bring. [EP]

Modern Kids

8 08 2007

So MoMa (NY) is having a big summer sale in their gift shop and we just discovered a funky kids messenger bag that will make any child too cool for school! Part of their “Modern Kids” line, MoMa introduces this orange khaki messenger bag equiped with multiple pockets and compartments for all those Pokemon cards that one needs to hide. The best part, however, is the price! Originally $32, it’s now $19 … that’s $19 bucks to making your kid the hippest kid in the 3rd Grade! [EP]

Dover Street Market London

9 07 2007

If you’re in London, hop on over to 17-18 Dover Street in the West End, there you will find one of the city’s fashion gems, Dover Street Market. This uber-sleek boutique highlights some of tomorrow’s couture findings along with ready-to-wear apparrels. Taking cue from one of fashion’s timeless masters, Rei Kawabuko, you will notice many post-modern touches of shift-space/time design within the store’s layout. As the British would say, “It’s Brilliant, mate!” (EP)

Ace is the Place

22 05 2007

Portland, OR ceases to amaze. The city is a hidden gem, filled with some of the world’s most unique places. Ace Hotel is one of them. Situated in downtown PDX, this boutique hotel is both lux and affordable. Each room has its own style yet fully equiped with old turntables and random dusty 45s to enjoy. Their theme is simply Portland – that rugged Pacific Northwest mentality mixed with high-designer-ware only a Scandinavian minimalist would appreciate. Next time you see yourself in P-Land, check in to Ace Hotel.
